Memorial

Belle Fourche, SD Cemetery: Peder Paulson. WWI- 1890-1988 Version 2

This picture was taken last year on Memorial Day, during a road trip covering several states. We randomly stopped at this cemetery in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. This man, whom I don’t know, was a WWI vet who lived to be almost 100 years old. My wife said: “I feel like I’m gazing upon a memorial of someone who would have been very interesting to know”.

Burden

124/365: Burden

“Is it worthwhile that we jostle a brother,
Bearing his load on the rough road of life?
Is it worthwhile that we jeer at each other, In blackness of heart
that we war to the knife?
God pity us all in our pitiful strife”
